What is a dress code? A dress code is the set of rules that specifies the way you should be dressed in order to gain entry. Dress code is always enforced. Failure to comply may result in denied entry at door.
Most all “official” LA club dress codes will tell you that you can’t wear any of the following and get in the club:

What about my shoes? Many people have questions about footwear dress code. Dress shoes will always be accepted. Work boots or athletic workout shoes and sandals will always be a no go. But many sneakers are quite fashionable and expensive. (e.g. Nike Air Jordan.) So they are usually a go.
What do girls wear to the club? Women can get away with wearing almost anything they want. However, we have seen instances where flip flop sandals were not allowed.
